The Husky Huddle and tailgate events are being held on Sept. 10. These events help boost school spirit.

To celebrate the first varsity home football game of the season, the leadership class is going big with a Husky Huddle and tailgate this Friday as a way to raise school spirit. The Husky Huddle will take place during the break between second and fourth period, while tailgate will take place before the start of the game. Cheerleaders, dancers and drumline will perform to get the school excited for the afternoon game. Students have been asked to wear blue and black spirit wear to show support towards the school.

Planned by leadership, the tailgate will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Students will be able to enjoy food, play games and hang out with their friends during this event.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, full pep rallies are not yet a possibility. The pep rally initially planned was canceled due to district orders preventing large crowds. Administration decided to hold a smaller event so students could still celebrate school spirit

It’s a pep rally, but on a smaller scale while we work up to getting things back to normal as quickly as we are allowed to,” assistant principal Christy Bryce said.

Both administration and leadership are doing their best to increase spirit events that are within the guidelines they were given. Their goal is to work toward getting things back to normal as quickly as possible so that the school can go back to enjoy the events they were used to.  Normalcy is still a challenge with district requirements and ever changing coronavirus policies. Still, small steps are being taken everyday to work up to the bigger picture: safe and active events.
